FAQ
Where are Western Slope Trails?
Located on the western slope of Massanutten Mountain, just minutes from downtown Harrisonburg, VA. The trailhead is off Rawley Pike (Route 33 West)—see the parking map below.
Who owns the trails?
The land is private property owned by Massanutten Resort. The Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC) manages and maintains the trail network through a partnership with the resort. A signed risk and release waiver is required for all users, included with your pass purchase.
How do I get a pass?
Day passes ($10) can be purchased at the trailhead kiosk by cash or card, or online before you go. Annual passes are available at svbcoalition.org. A pass and signed waiver are required for all users age 12 and up.
Where do the pass proceeds go?
100% of pass fees go directly to trail maintenance, new construction, and stewardship. SVBC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit—your pass and donations are tax-deductible and stay in the Shenandoah Valley.
What makes Western Slope special?
Entirely community-built—designed, dug, and maintained by local riders and trail lovers. Over 32 miles across 800+ acres, from beginner-friendly flow trails to technical expert terrain, with stunning Shenandoah Valley views.
What events are held here?
Trail Work Wednesdays (weekly volunteer days), an annual Demo Day for test rides, community events, and youth programming. Check our news page for what’s coming up.
