What does a Bicycle Coalition have to say about Global Running Day, you might ask πŸ‘Ÿβ”

The bike is ONE way of connecting with our world and each other and getting places. But so are our feet. When given the chance, that is (creating paths and spaces to do so safely)

We’ve been saying a lot lately, β€œThe bike is the bridge.”
That’s why many of you are here.Β

But when it comes to getting from A to B in a way that rocks and feels joyous, that is safeβ€”when it comes to connecting with one another and being outsideβ€”a bike is by no means essential. It’s simply a part of the picture.

We think it’s fun, at least.

A walk, a hike, a run, a stroll, a sit on the ground – are among the many ways we can celebrate being outside.

πŸ’šIt’s why we were stoked to celebrate Global Running Day 5k with Indigenous-led Grassroots NonProfit, Rising Hearts.

πŸ’šIt’s why we have created a Wednesday Gals Trail Run at the Western Slope (6p start time for June and July, btw!).

πŸ’šIt’s why (while we love the bike), we emphasize walking, running, and rolling – because it is, too, a pathway to connect us.

We love to see running communities on the streets, paths, and trails (Rising Hearts , Magnus Opus Coaching/Excel Running, Purcell ParkRun , VA Momentum , Β Community Gear Library) – who else is out there in the Valley?
