Project Status Update
The Northend Greenway continues to move forward in collaboration with the city toward path construction. As you may know, thanks to your support and the tireless efforts ofNorthend Greenway staff and volunteers, we were able to secure $1.2 million, $600,000 in city funds and a matching state grant. The city holds that money dedicated for theNorthend Greenway project, and we continue to work alongside city staff to uphold citizen priorities concerning path design, costs, and implementation. Currently the city is awaiting proposals from engineering firms; once the firm is chosen, final design and engineering will commence. At this time, we expect construction of the path to begin in early 2015.
We will keep you posted as the process moves forward and we move closer to the realization of path on the ground!
