Tuesday Night: Fast Group Ride
This is a fast road ride designed for experienced riders who are comfortable riding in a tight, efficient group at a sustained pace.
While the pace is strong, this is not a race. The goal is a cohesive group ride, not a selection event.
We will incorporate regroup points on most routes. These are full regroups, but they are typically brief (at most 3–6 minutes). Because of terrain and timing, not everyone who falls off will always make it back on before the group rolls. Riders should come prepared for a fast, continuous effort.
We may wait for a straggler or two, depending on the route and the ride’s flow, but the group is not guaranteed to wait if you fall off the back.
We would rather you finish with the group than burn matches, taking long pulls off the front. Short, smooth, steady pulls keep the group together better than hero efforts.
The aim is to finish with at least 75% of the riders who started.
The success of the ride isn’t measured by how many riders get dropped. It’s measured by how many riders roll back in together.
Long-term, success also looks like consistency: 10+ riders showing up week after week throughout the season.
This is a group ride — fast, efficient, and cooperative.
