David Schramm - Raffle Winner!
Winner of the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition Bike Raffle with Rocktown Bicycles
This year the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition collaborated with Rocktown Bicycles, a local bike shop in Harrisonburg, VA, for the annual bike raffle fundraiser.
Participants bought tickets to support trails for all and have their shot at the top-of-the-line Specialized Stumpjumper Pro 15 …all while supporting the Coalition’s mission of creating safer, more accessible places to walk and bike across the Shenandoah Valley.
You might notice….that’s not a Stumpjumper in the photo! Well, when we notified David that HE WON his response was…
“I wondered if you could do a substitution? l’d like to swap it for a less expensive Gravel bike and you keep the difference to support your work with the svbcoalition?”
With the help of Rocktown Bicycles, we were able to find the best bike for him.
In David’s words:
“Now that I’m in my 60’s I’ve left my fast trail riding behind, but still like to do gravel, trail, and light touring….
a gravel bike that would be more fun; faster, livelier, yet still able to do some light touring and trail riding.”
Thank you SVBCoalition, Rocktown Bicycles, and Healthy Habits.
I'm still shocked that I won and that SVBCoalition and Rocktown were able to work with me to get the perfect bike. Thanks too to Lauren and the folks at Healthy Habits for getting it together as well as for your support of our local biking and hiking community. Our communities need organizations and businesses like SVBCoalition, Rocktown, and Healthy Habits.
The bike is fantastic, better than I had imagined. I'm hoping for some temperatures above freezing so I can take it on more than just a jaunt around the block.
Thanks again,
Dave Schramm
