Donate to Support the Coalition
In case you missed it, the Bicycle Coalition made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Shenandoah Mountain Bike Festival. We value your past attendance and can’t wait to have you back. We’ve held the festival for 23 years and this is the first year that we have had to take a break from our favorite family reunion. We know the festival will return and we fully intend to keep our annual reunion alive and well. Missing a year of the festival is a big blow to our organization. The Festival is one of our biggest community events of the year where we all come together for a big family reunion and celebrate our trails community.

It’s also our biggest fundraiser of the year and the loss of revenue during a pandemic when other sources of funding are drying up is (frankly) a bit scary. Your favorite Bicycle Coalition, like many other nonprofits in this area and around the country, faces an uncertain funding future.

This is particularly problematic at a time when there are unique opportunities to build on the recent increase in trail use, bicycling, and outdoor recreation in our region.

Can you help make sure the Coalition has the resources it needs to Continue Building Better Communities through trails? Here are three ways to do so:Make a significant donation to SVBC that is commensurate with the value you place on places to ride, hike, run, and walk. If you came to the Festival last year, consider matching or exceeding the amount you spent on your registration, the raffle, or any other contributions.Help Spread the Word by telling your friends about the Coalition and all the work we are doing to improve trails for everyone. You can even take a look at our most recent (in-progress) trail project on Narrowback Mountain in the George Washington National ForestApply for matching funds from your employer. You can lookup whether or not your donation might qualify for matching funds from your employer on our Donation PageThank you so much for all you’re doing to build community through great trails. And until we meet again, take a walk down memory lane by checking out pictures from the 2018 and 2019 Festivals.Take care of yourself and someone else if you can,The Festival Planning Team
P.S. We hope to break ground on a new trail on Narrowback Mountain in early 2021. We are committed to continued trail improvements on our public lands and will have a lot of exciting trail planning news for you in the coming months.
