Join us on Saturday, April 14th for an overnight bikecamping trip to
Hone Quarry! We will leave from SBC (135 South Main St Harrisonburg) at 12PM on Saturday. The route out is about 20ish leisurely miles of gravel and pavement, providing plenty of opportunities to check out each other’s bikes and setups. Once we get to Hone Quarry, we’ll pitch camp and spend the afternoon hanging out and sharing experiences we’ve had on the trail. We’ll have a few veterans of bike travel there who would love to chat about how to get started bikecamping and bikepacking, as well as dive into the finer points of the pastime. On Sunday morning, we’ll depart as a group to head back into town.
This is an introduction to bikecamping, so it’s a perfect opportunity to get your feet wet and see what all the fuss is about. You will need enough food and water to ride out and back, as well as stay overnight in a primitive camping spot. If you need help getting your bike and gear together, show up early on Saturday and we’ll get you
rolling. If you have any questions, feel free call us or drop by the shop and talk to Val or anyone else on staff!
Come test your overnight setup, hangout by a campfire, and shoot the breeze with your fellow bikecampers. It’ll be a blast!
