From the Northend Greenway Steering Committee:
Friends and Supporters of the Northend Greenway,
It’s been a while, but we are excited to share some fantastic news: Phase One of the Northend Greenway is finally underway! You can track the details and progress through the city’s website here.
After a nearly eight-year effort to get this project off the ground, Phase One, connecting Mt. Clinton Pike to Suter St., construction will begin early spring and finish late summer. The contractor for the Northend Greenway, Momentum Earthworks, will also conduct stream restoration on Black’s Run, which will finish in the fall.
Your long-time efforts and support have made this moment possible, and we cannot thank you enough! You have contributed to the making of a path, park, and prototype for Harrisonburg. And it will change this city for the better.
While we are happy to celebrate, we also know that our work isn’t finished. Our efforts will focus on bringing the path all the way downtown. So pump up your bike tires, because we are about to kick this movement back in gear!
Stay tuned for more news – we’re going to need your help to continue on with Phase Two and Three. To follow along with regular updates, please be sure to like and follow our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Let’s connect our community and build the Northend Greenway.
