We are delighted to invite you to our Northend Greenway Fall event. While we (and the City and the selected contractor) have been busy moving the Greenway forward and while we are getting closer and closer to the construction stage, it isn’t quite time to celebrate yet. But we would like to update the community about the progress that’s been made and to celebrate a new book by one of our very own steering committee members.
A Harrisonburg resident, JMU history professor, and (as The New Yorker wrote in its recent review) “demon researcher,” Evan Friss has just published a book about the history of cycling in American cities. It was his historical interest in the subject that initially drew him to the Northend Greenway and we’ve been lucky to draw on his expertise. So please join us for an evening of celebration, bike-filled conversation, and complimentary beer. We look forward to catching you up on all that’s new with the Greenway.
