You could be really really motivated and get out to help with our trails in the George Washington National Forest 2 days in a row. First, Saturday the 22 starts the SVBC regular Saturday trail work in the George Washington National Forest. Then you can come out and help brush back the Chestnut portion of the Wild Oak National Recreation Trail. All hours will count towards the SVBC’s matching hours for our latest grant. Your volunteer labor time is worth $24 an hour!

DETAILS:

Meeting at Mr. J’s on Rt. 42 South at 8:00 am. It will be a long and beautiful day!! Bring your favorite rake or snippers to help clear the trail after our PRO tour brushers cut the swath back. Long pants and long sleeve shirts, with eye protection – it is requited of volunteers in the National Forest. RSVP to Chris Scott.

Chris Scott and Shenandoah Mountain Touring will be leading the mission to brush back the growth on Chestnut. Plan to enter the trail from the top (Little Bald) and then work your way down the trail while brushing. More details to be determined based on the size of the group.

If you are interested then please either CALL (540-421-4957), TEXT, or EMAIL Chris Scott () for details and to see how you can help.
