The annual Dinner and Bikes Tour, a multimedia roadshow of food and bicycle activism, will be putting on events in 28 cities in twelve states on the U.S. east coast, from Portland to Miami. The tour is a call to action for communities around the country to take the lead in growing the national bicycle movement.
Attendees will enjoy a gourmet vegan and gluten-free buffet by Ploeg while participating in an interactive presentation about transportation equity by Blue and watching Biel’s documentary Aftermass, a history of bicycle activism in Portland. The tour is traveling with a food- and bicycle-themed pop-up bookstore. Authors will be available to chat and sign books after the event.

Joshua Ploeg is the traveling vegan chef. When not touring the world, he is a personal chef and delighter of secret cafe goers in Los Angeles. Joe Biel is the author of brand new book Beyond the Music. founded Microcosm Publishing in his bedroom closet 18 years ago and has been publishing empowering and practical nonfiction books ever since. In his “spare time” he makes documentaries on topics from punk to bicycling. On this tour, he’ll be showing Aftermass, a feature documentary about bicycle activism in Portland in some cities, and a selection of short documentaries about bike activism in other cities.
