This is how you move rocks in the woods!
Measure twice, dig once!

The Wolf Ridge Trail received a major reroute last fall as part of the SVBC DCR Recreational Trails Program Grant. With the help of Trail Dynamics, a professional trail building company based out of Asheville North Carolina and volunteers from the Shenandaoh Mountain Bike Festival, the old wolf ridge trail was closed and relocated onto a more sustainable grade. In the course of the reroute, the trail ran into a few spots that stay wet for many months of the year and cause water to run down a small part of the trail. Our trail work day largely involved armoring these sections so that the water can flow across the trail rather than down the tread. The rock armoring will ensure that the tread remains firm and the soil undisturbed.
We have one more work day planned to finish the rock armoring on Wolf Ridge, if you have the time we would love your help! Sunday July 17 we will meet at the trail head at 9am!
