2025 was a year of connection, growth, and transformation for the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition, and you made it happen. From building trails to providing people with bikes for transportation, we worked together to create joyful and inclusive spaces where everyone can move freely and feel connected to their community.

Here’s a quick look at your impact in 2025:

  • 221 events hosted: Group rides, volunteer days, programs for kids, families, riders, runners, women—you brought these to life.
  • 5 new trails blazed and repaired: Including Seven Bends State Park, connecting with the George Washington National Forest, and a new climbing trail to the middle mountain of the Massanutten Western Slope.
  • 72 bikes distributed through Bikes for Neighbors: Opening doors to work, school, and freedom on two wheels.
  • 1,776 volunteer hours: Our trail heroes showed up, dug in, and made big things happen.

Why It Matters:

Trails aren’t just trails. Bikes aren’t just bikes. They’re bridges—connecting people to places, possibilities, and one another.

A Story to Share:

Take Malcolm, who we met through our Bikes for Neighbors program. He received a bike that truly fits their life, and a reliable way to get to work, school, and everything in between.

Looking Ahead:

With your continued support, we’ll keep the momentum rolling into 2026:

  • Growing programs like Bikes for Neighbors to ensure that people can access reliable transportation.
  • More trails that are beginner-friendly and accessible, like Sunset Park, Seven Bends, and new Western Slope Trails.
  • Safer routes for kids to walk and bike to school.
  • Propelling the Common Ground Trails Collaborative to increase access to trails and steward our public lands.
