Interested in inspiring others to try bicycling to work or to ride around the neighborhood with their families? Think your friends would ride more if they had just a little more confidence in their biking skills?
Consider becoming an SVBC Education Volunteer!
SVBC’s Education Committee started in 2013 with seven local League Cycling Instructors (LCIs) after they went through the League of American Bicyclists’s Ride Smart program and became certified LCIs. We want to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the joys of cycling in the Shenandoah Valley. The SVBC Education Committee is currently led by Brian Bauer (LCI #4151), Angela Crow (LCI #4286), Thanh Dang (LCI #3414), Carl Droms (LCI #4110), Becky Johnston (LCI #4267), Kyle Lawrence, Laura Pyle (LCI #4112), and Ritchie Vaughan.
We have lots of ideas, but we can’t do with out additional help! The classes and workshops we offer will depend greatly on the volunteers who join us.
Whether you only have an hour or two to spare every now and again or would like to help out regularly or even become a League Cycling Instructor, we can use your skills and energy to inspire others to have fun on their bikes.
