Many of you reached out to us when you heard that a mountain biker was airlifted off of Narrowback Mountain to UVA’s hospital. Well that mountain biker was Edwin Alvis and he is back home and recovering well after a broken femur. Many of you have ridden with Edwin on SVBC group rides including the Monday night mountain bike ride, the century and other events.
To support Edwin’s family the Seefried family is organizing an event the following is from Tracy Seefried ():
We’d like to encourage you to attend Edwins “Femur Recovery Drive”. This event is to help financially support the Alvis family while Edwin recovers from his injury sustained while mountain biking on Jan 3. Donations per your discretion. The event will begin and end at our home. Attendees can participate in a 5 mile bike ride together around town or a 1 mile walk in the neighborhood. At 5:00, we will have plentiful amounts of chili, cornbread, & beer at our home! Families, kids, neighbors all welcome! If you cannot attend, we invite you to send a contribution via mail to my address or via paypal to citing “Edwin’s Fund” in the notes section. Lets all band together and show support! PS-if weather is iffy for outdoors, we’ll just enjoy the food & beverage inside with Edwin and his family! 🙂
