We believe that biking should be fun. We believe that change can be playful.
“Biking isn’t the end goal for everyone, but for now, it’s a critical step forward for these neighbors, connecting them to the community and opportunity.”

Tuesday, April 7th from 5:30-7:30pm
New rider orientation at the Massanutten Western Slope is an opportunity for coaches to connect with newcomers and for riders to meet some of their teammates. Participants should come ready for a ride, bringing their bikes, helmets, water, etc. During the orientation, we conduct bike checks, discuss practice expectations, and conclude with a brief group ride. We strongly recommend that all new riders to ShenRock take advantage of the new rider orientation.

When: 12:00 Noon, Sunday, April 12, 2026.
Where: Ride from Court Square, downtown Harrisonburg, leaving at 12:00pm Sharp!! OR you can park at the Farm (6559 Joes Creek Rd)
Potluck!? WHAT? We have a long tradition of folks bringing a dish to share for the Roubaix. You are under no obligation to do so and we’ll also purchase food. But we will have a car at Court Square to pickup your food or you can drive it right to the farm.
đź’ĄWhat: The Harris-Roubaix is another great, fun cycling event from your Bicycle Coalition. It takes place every Spring around the same day as the Paris-Roubaix. The group leaves from the center of Harrisonburg at noon for a casual ride to a family farm about 7 miles to the north. From the farm, a 10-15 mile loop will be marked for your enjoyment.
đź’ĄWhat type of bikes will there be? One great thing about Harris-Roubaix is the diversity of bikes. There will be folks on road bikes (durable 28c tires minimum suggested), gravel bikes, mountain bikes, tandems, fixed-gears, single speeds, and kids’ trailers.
đź’ĄWhat to bring: Your bike, items to change a flat, water, a smile, and some food to share at the farm–if you bring a dish to share, pot-luck style, to Court Square before the ride, we will bring it out to the farm.
đź’ĄThe roads of Roubaix, A majority of the Roubaix loop, will be smooth gravel roads to the Northwest of Harrisonburg, located around the Singers Glen area. This area backs up on the Great North Mountain, so several steep hill climbs may exist.
đź’ĄIs this a group ride or a race? It is a group ride to the farm. Everyone will regroup there and receive instructions about the loop and cue sheet if needed. Folks are welcome to ride at any pace. The group will split up during the loop.
đź’ĄThere will be Lauf Cycles bikes you can demo!
Does it cost anything? This is a free event from the Coalition.
