In May 2011, Harrisonburg was recognized as a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Community for the work we had done and our plans for growing our bike friendly community. Now our award is about to expire. Think we can jump to the next level and get a Silver Award? Maybe we can with your help!
Help the City of Harrisonburg and Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition with completing our application. We don’t want to miss any of the great work so many of you have been doing.
The draft 2015 Bicycle Friendly Community Application is available for review here. Take a look and if we’re missing something – an education program, a presentation, a workshop, a resource that was created, etc. – please email and give us details to add to the application.
Part of the application also requires statistics on bike parking options we have in Harrisonburg. We also need your help with completing this inventory of bike parking in the City. Review and complete this spreadsheet – Inventory of Bike Parking in Harrisonburg.
You can see our 2011 application here. And here’s the feedback we received from the League of American Bicyclists.
The application is due in August so we need all of your input by July 19,2015. Many thanks!
