Volunteers are needed for the upcoming Mountain View Elementary School Bike Rodeo, Friday, October 25 from 1-2:30pm. Volunteers will help guide children through the obstacle course, help kids who have never ridden a bike or aren’t very confident, serve snacks, fit helmets or talk about bike safety. Specific volunteer needs:
It would be great to have people help with:
- · Bike drop off from 12:30-1pm (1-2 people)
- · Distributing snacks at 1-1:15pm (1-2 people)
- · Course set up as soon as parking lot is clear (4-6 people)
- · Directing kids around the course (4-5 people)
- · Fitting new helmets on kids that did not bring them (2-4 people)
- · Checking helmets for proper fit and cracks if they do bring them (2-3 people)
- · Assisting with children who may be new to a bike or need extra help (2-4 people)
- · Bike tune ups (done by our wonderful bike shop folks)
- · Bike/Pedestrian safety talk (anyone!!)
