…a testament to the encouragement of SVBC to all bicyclists, all skill levels

To Thanh Dang and the members of SVBC, many, many thanks for the ways you encourage biking to all ages and skill levels! Thanh’s course, Confident City Cycling, was just what I needed to gain more confidence in biking on our city streets. Following the course, I participated in SVBC’s May “Ice Cream Ride” with my 8-year granddaughter. I was so grateful to Ben Wyse and other experienced riders for the lift, mentally and physically, that we received. I enjoyed the ride immensely, but Kylie was absolutely ecstatic about her accomplishment. These events have inspired me to provide these opportunities to members of my church, First Pres on Court Square. Parents and grandparents are looking for ways to keep their little ones active as they grow, and biking together meets that goal, and more. By offering the bike rodeo and a casual city ride to our church families, First Pres is not only fostering a healthy lifestyle, but biking becomes another outlet for fellowship apart from worship and Sunday school. It is also a goal of “Bike Blast” to draw nearby families who may be looking for a church home. All children will receive a neon yellow shirt to wear during our event along with a goody bag containing fun free stuff and information about God’s love and First Pres’ programs for all ages.

We welcome everyone for a fun time!  Also, we would be honored to have SVBC members help with some of the activities and the family-friendly neighborhood ride.   For more information or to volunteer, email Travis Layman at dtlayman [at] msn [dot] com or give him a call!
